Project list is designed to capture small projects which are in need of help. They are all small projects with a start and a finish in sight. Nothing too complex, but together create a finished product which will make a difference in our Museum. You can work on a selected project alone or in a small group, picking a project you enjoy doing and will be proud to put your name on. It will be posted at the building and on the web site. Here goes: Select a project from the list below, write it down, and contact one of the officers or directors and let them know you are willing to take this project and run with it. Any cost for the project will be submitted to the Officers and approved, once you have approval, you may continue with the project. Every project is important, Thank you for taking the time to help. Project list: 1. Re-organize photo albums. This is an easy one. Some of it is already started, simply review the assortment of photographs, and re-organize them into better albums. If you want to get ambitious, there are photographs in boxes which need to be inserted into books for safer viewing. This project can be done in small steps beginning with one or two books. At this time no one is working on this project. 2. For the woodworker: Replace the cellar bulkhead door. The one (green) which is there now is falling apart. We need a stronger design, one that is waterproof, and it should be able to be locked. 3. The loom room. A 4 foot fluorescent light needs to be hung in the center of the room. A wire can be run along the ceiling and down to the plug near the closet. Simply a couple of screw eyes in the beam, hang it, and plug it in. 4. 3 new cases were given to us by the Worcester Museum of Art. They are simple cases which need to be painted. Not a fancy case, just a wall unit with a plexiglass front. This will only take one afternoon and once complete, we can fill them with valuable miniatures and we won’t have to worry about anyone taking them out of the Museum. 5. The civil war room (Garage) doors need to be tightened up. The mice can walk right in under the doors or through the cracks. Maybe a few strips of wood and a rubber flap. Might take about an hour or so. 6. Look through the building, and get ideas on what to put in the display under glass in the document room. It is on the wall on the left side when you walk in the room. I’ve added a few items just to fill it up. Is there something else we can do with that display? 7. Painting. This can be done is small steps. One room at a time and even one wall at a time. You decide. 8. Volunteer to work in the building. Don’t wait for a phone call. The building in now only open Saturday from 2-5 during July and August That is 3 hours each Saturday, 8 Days through the summer for a total of 24 hours. That’s it! We are open for 24 hours a year, not including the special events such as the craft fair when we will be open on Sunday. We need 4 people a day, if someone different works each week, we need 32 people, if you work twice then we only need 16. Help keep our building open so visitors can see what we have.
